Funded by the European Union and Finnish Embassy several projects started to increase agricultural and livestock management capacity in two San communities where food security is a serious and daily threat to their wellbeing.
Agricultural campaign
An agricultural project was developed together with Fabian von Hase, a permaculture specialist, who is working in the field og development of sustainable and fair agriculture and food growing. The campaign is designed to help the San communities to develop agricultural alternatives in local communities.
“The environment within these conservancies is harsh and these communities are particularly at risk from the impacts of climate change, therefore assisting these San communities to develop capacity to improve their long-term food security is the ultimate goal.”; said Lara Diez of the Nyae Nyae Development Foundation.
Posters were designed to illustrate some of the alternative methods of agriculture.
